About me
HI! I'm Ainsley, a producer, sound engineer and songwriter who has credited work with artists such as Train, Beverly Knight and Jesse & Joy. That last one got me 2 Latin Grammys for sound engineering in 2013.
My first studio job was 25 years ago and I have been involved in music production ever since. I learnt the bulk of the trade at Kensaltown Studios in London, where I worked as an in-house engineer, beat programmer and studio assistant for 6 years. There, I was mentored by hit songwriter Sacha Skarbek (Adele, Miley Cyrus, Aurora), producer Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, Yungblud, KT Tunstall) and engineer Dyre Gormsen (Jack Savoretti, Jamie Cullum, Mary J. Blige). Other regulars at Kensaltown were songwriter Jamie Hartman (Lewis Capaldi, Rag'n'Bone Man) and Yusuf Islam (formerly known as Cat Stevens). During my time at Kensaltown, I also assisted countless sessions with high profile artists including Adele, The Kooks, Jason Mraz, Craig David, and many more.
In 2013 I relocated to Berlin and now run my own facility called 7th Floor Studios where alongside my engineer, I work on all things to do with creating music. See the studio page for more details.
I am also a published songwriter currently signed to Peer Music UK, and have released music under BMG, Universal and Sony.
